I’m pretty darned excited to share this wedding with you guys tonight! Based over in the Mount and complete with stunning beachside photos, this crisp & classic wedding was shot by the ridiculously talented Danelle Isles of Soulfare Photography. The happy couple, Natalie & Rowan, really focused on what was important to them on the day and created a wedding that truly suited themselves!
What was the theme/style/look of your big day?
We kept it pretty simple with a classic black and white theme and as we got married on Guy Fawkes incorporated a sparkler into the wedding invitation, menu, placecards etc. As both are us are big foodies (and also known for enjoying a drink or two!) our focus was on having beautiful food and wine and also great music to ensure everyone had a fun night.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Her: Walking/dancing (to ‘Memories’ by David Guetta) into the reception as husband and wife.
Him: Hard to choose one moment because the whole day was amazing.
What was the funniest memory from your wedding day?
Her: Speeches – our MC was awesome – and also being driven to Mills Reef by my crazy Uncle Neil who played Eminem’s “White America” song on route to the venue…not exactly the music I was expecting to listen to prior to being married!
Him: Everyone being crazy on the dancefloor and the speeches.
What’s your advice & recommendations for future brides & grooms?
Her: Think hard about what’s most important to you on your wedding day and focus your energy and efforts on those areas. Don’t feel pressure to do certain things because it’s traditional e.g. we didn’t have a wedding cake as we wanted a nice dessert instead and also had photos before the ceremony because we wanted photos at the beach but didn’t want to waste an hour after the ceremony driving from Bethlehem to the Mount. As it turned out that was a great decision as nerves had hit me the night before the wedding but as soon as I saw Rowan I relaxed and was able to enjoy the rest of the day more (plus that gave us more time to hang out with our guests after the ceremony). Oh – and brides make sure you eat so the champagne doesn’t go straight to your head (I failed on this one)!!!
Him: Take time to enjoy it because it goes so fast and don’t stress over the little things. Also – don’t skimp on the music – pay for a good band or DJ. Our band was awesome and the dancefloor was packed all night.
A HUGE to Natalie and Rowan for sharing not only the beautiful pictures of their special day, but their stories and advice too!
